No, not yet, I've ordered a shifter and other parts from Auto World, and I'm waiting for spring bushings, and 5 galons of syntorq to come in from my parts man, And I still have a drive shaft that needs to get made. Once I finaly get everything, I'll have it on the road in about 3 days, :-laf Shes Close I just wish I could afford to do the body and pain work now. I'm thinking two tone blue and silver what do you think? Was also thinking about black and silver but then I'd have to change the interior color.

I am not a fan of black at all. Especially in a rock chip, deer suicide region like Cascade County. The Blue and silver will dress it up just fine, talk with Dawna and Kenny about the body work, they have several good shops they deal with in Great Falls for trim accessory painting. I'm not sure if their son Jimmy is still painting or not, he has done excellent work for me before.

I heard that Tim at driveline services closed shop, so I am not up on the local preferred machinist anymore for driveline work these days. He was the best in town in my opinion. Excellent quality, quick turn around, and very affordable. (might be why he shut the shop down). he built an entire 2 section driveshaft for my 85 chevy crew cab repower for less than $400. 00 with nearly all new parts, all 1350 joints and/or heavier. He also built the driveline for my Volvo toterhome.

This is great, I always liked the '90-'93 trucks and the crew cabs are sweet! Good work.

Thanks, I Like all the dodge trucks from 72-93, but I really like the grill on the 91-93 trucks.

I made more progress, It's Allive It's great to hear it run after all it's been through. I'll be driving it soon!!!! Oo.

Which front end to use?

I have noticed that all the ctd into swd crew cabs conversions you change the front springs and front axle to the later year. Does this have to be done or can you use the 84-85 springs and front differential? I have a 92 2wd that I would like to use as my donor truck. Also will my transmission bolt up to the transfer case of the 84-85? Good luck with the conversion

Ok First You could use any frount springs and axles from 72-93 however your realy should use a danna 60 for the frount, a danna 44 ( a 1/2 ton axle found in alot of older 3/4 ton trucks) may hold up for a while but I'm sure it would fail at some point, I've wore them out b4!

2nd Your 2wd transmission would need the tail shaft and housing from a 4x4 unit, and you probably would spend more getting the parts and having it put together then you can buy a good used transmission.

3rd If the transfer case is a 205 np, I guess you could use it if it is from an automatic truck, (Auto and manual have diferent splines) I know there are a few variations of them but I don't think the diesel ones are hevery made then the others. I'm sure someone else will put in there . 02 in, but if not, make a post up on the transmission and transfercase and I'm sure someone (with more experiance) will help out with this subject.

I would not bother with anything but the Diesel dana 60's for the dodge trucks. There is a difference, go to any junkyard and ask them specifically for a CTD dodge front axle, they will want more money for it, if they even have one. You are very right about the Dana 44 models, much more than a built up small block and I'd consider them overloaded for useful loads and torque.

This is the exact reason to just get the parts from a 4wd truck in the first place. Few understand how to swap a tailshaff housing out, so its pretty much not worth even getting into. The cost to do it is not worth it even if you do know how.

I know there are a few variations of them but I don't think the diesel ones are hevery made then the others.

 Put a dodge cummins 205 transfer case next to any other model of the 205 and you'll see a difference, the yokes are even bigger, not to mention the input shafts ;)

Well, It's Alive I got to drive it around the block today, I still have a good bit to do, but IT'S ALIVE!!

I put 4" exhaust on it, rewired the chasis, installed the new drive shaft, and started to recheck things.

I need to put the bed on, install my 5th wheel, goose neck, and reese hitch, hook up trailler breaks,

then I'll start working on things like making it intercooled :-laf

:D Wish me luck LOL :D

I'm going for a bout a 70 mile round trip today, I'm Off to an Allinement shop to have things checked out!

I'm still working on things, Today I should be getting my guages, and some more parts to make it intercooled :-laf

Mike

I Made It Oo. LOL

Wow this thing is different, It's got a L of a lot more power than that 360 ever thought it had! and the cummins is currently stock, Man I can't wait till I get the Intercooler on it and start turning it up.

here are the pic od how it looks right now, Yeah She's ugly, But there's a cummins under that hood! :-laf

LoL I had everything in but the Tack by 6:30, now I have 10 miles on her (so the trip meter says, I really have about 200 now) Thank you so much for your help, After all the problems Proformance Gear caused me.

Now I just got to finish a bunch of little things, and learn more about Diesels since this is my first one.

Ive wanted to do somthing like this swap for a while. Never got farther than that though. What years did doge make a crew cab? Did they only make them on a d350 platform? Ive dont alot of searching, but can not find a 4 door dodge info site yet. Looks great so far!

The last year for the Crew cabs was 1985, you could get them in short or long box however they didn't make any long box 4x4's that's why I made mine. There are alot oh knowlegeable people on this site that would surly help you with your questions, so start asking LOL :D

Well The crew cab is going strong, I pulled a 38' trailer out to Cecil County Maryland and Love this thing, man does it pull!!! Hey Mopar tim where r u at, I'm just across the river from u. LOL

I know it's been a while, but I didn't have anyproblems with the truck durring the trip, I got 16 mpg pulling my 38' flat bed empty and 12 loaded. The trip home put me in a real bad mood, nothing wrong with the truck, just that I had to leave my old john deere behind. When I had it loaded with the rest of my tools and garbage the truck and trailer combo weight 25,900 pound :--)

So I had to leave the old jd behind (sorry old friend).

But now that I'm back and and caulmed down it's time to play

Next I want to install the intercooler and 93 turbo

and then Maybe get an edimacation on masaging the pump :-laf LOL

Nothing really to report right now, I have 15,000 trouble free miles(except I'm having trouble getting the rebuilt nv4500 into revers) It's been too cold out to play right now. so far I have gotten a best of 21 mpg (I'm not sure how I kept my lead foot off the loud pedal long enough to figure that out) This truck is so much fun to drive now, I don't know how i did with out the cummins all these years.

Future plans include

installing intercooler

biger turbo

smaller housing

new injectors.
