First thing you need...
is a set of gauges. This way you can monitor the engine. It's cheap insurance.
I'd first clean out the fuel pre filter,(maybe do the fuel filter at the same time, and air filter if it's been a while) especially if you dont know the last time it was done.
Check the boost gauge. I dont know what the 95's run, but I'm sure someone will chime in. If the boost is low, check for leaks in the intake plumbing.
I'd assume something like this before messing with the timing.
Moving the stock plate forward will give you a few HP. I'm guessing around 20? You should do the gauges before messing with the plate.
