I have a 95 12v that I am going to use for a swap. It burns oil pretty bad but otherwise runs and still has good oil pressure. The previous owner said he had a guy look at it and that it had a bad cylinder. He was quoted 2K to fix it. I haven't pulled the head yet. I think at least some new rings and or a new piston. Check the cylinder and hopefully it isn't bad. If it is can I get it sleeved or can I bore that cylinder only to get it back in shape? I am new to diesels and am wondering what all would be involved and how much different it would be than a gas engine.
