I've been waiting and now it's time to do it right...
I’ve got a stock '96 2500 auto with Banks Powerpack exhaust and 3:54 rear with 130k miles. It's a daily driver but on weekends it hauls my 2800lb Lance slide in camper and 17' Boston Whaler. Empty mileage runs around 22mpg and loaded it's around 17mpg.
What I’m not happy with are the trany shift points (seems to up-shift a bit too soon under load), the soft up-shifts and lack of power below 2100rpm and above 2800rpm. (the transmission is starting to slip from 1st to 2nd)
I'm not looking for a 1/4 mile racer, rather a dependable hauler that allows me to climb hills without feeling like I’m reaching the limit of power. I'm thinking I need a transmission upgrade and converter, injectors and possibly some fuel pump mods but I’m not sure where to start or who to contact. I'd prefer to have someone perform the upgrades for me (Maryland area?) but I’m more than able to handle most thing myself.
Thanks in advance!!!
Brian
