Not sure if that was a color name. I know my 99 was considered "light driftwood" it's not a bright silver and when the sun hits it at a certain angle you can see a kind of brown in it. This could be what you're calling charcoal gray?
It lists colors for 98. I'm guessing your's may be Cinnamon Glaze Metallic, Dark Chestnut Pearlcoat or ??? Check the chart in the link and compare your color code from either under the hood or (more than likely) the drivers door jamb to be sure.
Charcoal Gray showed up for '01. 5 or '02, the same time as Atlantic Blue I think. Driftwood disappeared at the same time, replaced with bright silver.
