2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission A/C condensate

Water from the A/C has started to get into the passenger side of the cab floor. Does anyone know an easy way of getting to the drain. Or where the drain comes through the firewall??

This is one area I know nothing about, so any help is appreciated.

It drips out from the passenger side of the engine bay right near the firewall. I've never looked for the drain but that's where the puddle ends up. I'd crawl under there and see what you can find.

My 94 is doing the exact same thing, but I haven't had a chance to stop and fix it yet. My service manager buddy at the local Dodge dealer told me the fix is to take the drain hose out of the firewall, clean up the opening and drain hose, re-install the drain hose and then re-seal around it. IMO the best thing to seal around it is professional grade urethane sealant such as Vulkem 116 or Pecora available at waterproofing supply houses (do not use the Sonneborn urethane as it is for masonry and will rust sheet metal). No doubt some other sealants would be suitable as well, but I know good quality urethane will last 12-15 years in that application.



The drain is located approximately one fourth of the way up the firewall from the floorboard transition on the passenger side.

Digger - Had similar problem with a car. The drain got clogged and water would build up from having the A/C on so much you could hear it sloshing around in the condensor box, then it would leak on the floor. I pushed a smaller hose inside the drain hose to drain the box. The junk that came out was nasty. I placed a small funnel on the hose, held it above the condenser box and poured water & bleach in, kind of like back flushing the line, repeating several times to remove any bad nasties from the box. It worked for me in this situation. Not sure if your drain has a broken hose, cracked box or dryrotted hose. If all looks intact it could be just a clogged drain. Good luck.
