Had to have an A/C line replaced last week. It's the line from cooler to compressor that has the sender "T" in it. The line had made it's way over next to, and was rubbing against, the intercooler clamp. Chances are fair that it was me who helped it on it's way during oil filter R&R. It had worn all the way through, and had just started to leak approx. 1/2 way up from the "T" to the flex line. Took to dealer, truck was 4k mi. out of warranty. They got DC to buy all parts, I paid labor. I think that's fair. (Though I do wish I could charge that kind of shop rate. ) When I checked the repair, I found that there was a piece of hose zip-tied to the outside of the hardline to protect it from damage. I had planned to add this when I returned home. The additional protective hose fit like it was made for this application. Did the tech. do a real clean job, or is this an update on the newer lines? If it's not, I believe that it would be worth your while to check yours, and perhaps add some protection in this area.
