I've done some searching, and all I can find is people having issues w/ the passengerside being warmer.

My passenger side is blowing freezing cold air, but the drivers side is only slightly cooled.

I've replaced some of the doors a few years back. Is there a broken door or actuator that would cause the driver side to be warmer?

Check your charge, a low charge can possibly do it.

Just had a new compressor and a fresh charge done a couple weeks back. Also the air on the pass side is way too cold for the charge to be low. I've dealt with a slow leak for years and I now what it feels like when its low.

Mine is the same way after about 30 minutes of use it eventually will cool down or I get use to it . It is pretty annoying though.

Most likely low charge. My 2003 did the exact same thing,it took approx 1/2 pound of freon to correct the problem.

When I first got my 04. 5, my wife complained for 2 years about that very same complaint, and had Dealer check it out a couple of times. It turned out to be the vent door after which the warranty ran out, of course, but it was a lot more pronounced and had completely failed at time of repair. After the repair, the warmer passenger issue was gone, and wife was happy.

I complained to my dealer about me having to pay for the repair, in which I had complained about it since new. The best I could get out of them was 50% discount, I guess it's better than nothing.

Also, I complained about getting outside smells, and it was even worse when climbing grades smelling diesel exhaust from the Semi's. That also went away after repair. I had complained about that in a separate complaint, during service when under warranty, and was told the newer cabs have a fresh air ratio thats not adjustable. That was false info and was the tipping point to get the discount.

Moral of this story is, even if it seems like a minor complaint, it is wise to have the service writer note it on the service invoice. ;)

Call Dodge's customer service. If you've been complaining about something since before the warranty ran out they will most likely help you out.

CIverson - How's the air flow? I just fixed a truck that had a 10-15 degree temp difference between the two sides even though it didn't have dual zone CC. The previous owner traded it in because Dodge couldn't fix it. Well maybe not Dodge, but the tech working on it over there couldn't. He bought an evaporator, condenser, and possibly more, plus labor and I believe he dropped over $2k. It's hard to believe that the charge wasn't right somewhere along the line, but all I did that fixed the temp difference was moving the thermistor to the correct place and recharging the system. All of the work in the dash caused the foam to fall apart, which in turn caused 1/2 the airflow to dump behind the dash, so I glued some new foam in.

It's fixed now, both sides blow about the same flow, 14 degrees Celsius.

The truck I was talking about above came back again after sitting on the lot for 20 days. The driver's side vents were blowing considerably colder than the passenger's side vents again.

I sucked the A/C down and found that there were only 8. 50 ounces of freon in it. It should have 26 ounces. The schrader valves were leaking very slowly, both high and low side. I recharged the system and filled the ports with water and saw a very slow leak, so I replaced the valves and manipulated them to get a good seal.

Low charge can and will cause uneven cooling temps.

Were you using a machine that removes the refrigerant, evacuates the system, and replaces the correct amount of refrigerant?

Bill

Yeah, a Viper 8000 or some such thing. It allows us to zero out the scale and measure the freon coming out during the recovery mode, then dial in the correct amount to recharge with.
