2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Issues When Debadging Truck?

Hi, I have a leak in the a/c lines where they were rubbing together for a few years and need to replace both high & low pressure lines. There is some type of quick connect fitting at each end of the lines. Do I need a special tool to remove these? Since the system has a leak, do I need to have the system emptied? Can I safely remove the existing lines without anything blowing up because of a pressurized system? Thanks, John

Ford fuel/transmission, chrysler ac disconnect tool. If you had anything in your system it would still work. Don't worry about any gas leaking, just get a cheap set of disconnects and make sure you get them to snap back together.

You can get the individual line disconnector tools at NAPA. I'd take the truck to NAPA and match the tool to what you need, because they are different sizes, depending on which connectors you have to take loose. They cost about 15. 00 each.
