I noticed today that my a/c is not blowing as cold as it should. I pulled into a rest area and looked under the truck. What I believe to be the compressor is low on the engine, passenger side. The pulley was turning, but if the clutch is on the inside of the pulley like my old GM vehicles, it didn't kick off. So I got in the cab, turned the a/c off and the inside of the pulley still did not cease to turn.
I have not been able to look at it close enough to tell, can anyone tell me, is the clutch visible by looking at the front of the pulley? Should it be kicking on and off and should I be able to see it from the front of the compressor when it does?
The air seemed to be much colder a few weeks ago after purchasing the truck. It is possible that I bought a truck with a leaky system and the PO had it charged right before I looked at it.
It was also VERY humid and hot today but I really dont think it was enough to make this big of a difference.
Suggestions?
