Where to get those "FANCY WHITE LIGHT-BULBS"

Here's a dumb question / statement:

Installed 3 Gauge full pillar gizmo. Had 2 gauge unit before, wanted to add trans temp. Trans temp gauge is probably not needed for my use, as trans never gets over 160 so far. Gauge pod is in the way of visor!!!! How do you use the visor if it hits the gauge pod before it gets far enough forward to be useful? Anybody else have these problems? Guess I'll go back to the 2 gauge pod.

First time I ever heard of that. Needless to say I will be watching this thread as Santa is bringing me one on Christmas. (3 pod) Hope things work out with mine!!!!!!!

I have 1/2 1n clearance, visor to top gauge and almost 1/2 in clearance bottom gauge to dash. 3 gauge w tweeter.

Mine works fine also. I'm using 2 1/6" guages. Are you or are they 2 5/8"?

Mine uses the 2 1/16" gauges. Have approx 3/8" clearance bottom pod to dash, but the top pod hits the visor by about 1/2". I wonder if some of them are trimmed differently? If the straight edges were moved just a little it would make a large difference in the pod location. Maybe I'll try to get another one of them.

My visor will hit if I move the visor past vertical. Like moving it towards the windshield more. Str8 down, no interference.

Rodney, Make sure your pod is flush & tight up against the OE A-Pilar. Also make sure its pushed down enough towards the corner so at least the top of the pod is flush with the top edge of the A-Pillar.

My visor clears but barely. Top of my 3 guage piller cover lines up with the top of the stock piller. Are these covers molded consistently or is it just that the fit is in the eye of the installer?

Checked mine today. Good clearance all the way to the windshield.

There must be some variation in the pod molding. When I installed mine, I did not think of visor conflict. It is installed flush at top of pillar, and to match the curve. If it were slid down, or towards door, it would probably clear, but would not fit the pillar. Visor comes straight down, but will not move toward windshield. Not a problem if I was 4" shorter!

Anyone know if you can buy the pins to hold the pillar on seperatly? They don't seem to be reusable, and I would like to try repositioning the pods.

This sounds like a 94-97. Anyone with a 98 or newer uses a different pod.
I have a '00 with the 3 gauge pod for 2-1/16 inch gauges, and it fits perfect.

Hey HVAC, what's with the little red buttons? I'm assuming they are a toggle switch, but for what? Switching between senders? If so what are you monitoring?

RBrooks, the red buttons allow you to access the different setup and recall functions. The $PA combination gauges allow constant monitoring of two functions simultaneously.

The lil red buttons allow you to push it to see the "peaks" of whatever data you were monitoring. Say your using an EGT gauge, driving around you don't see it go over 1300°, but later on if you push the lil red button it will display your highest reading, say maybe 1400° that you hit for a split second. Make sense?

Yeah, I understand, peak recall! Cool. I'm not familiar with the SPA gauges, so I was not aware they had that feature. Does anybody offer a "playback" feature on EGT? Would be great for when others have driven. I have that on my VDO tach in race car, but have not seen anything like it for EGT.
