I have a question. I have the Cummins barring tool for my B150's in the boat. The starters on on the right side on the engine and the barring tool goes in on the other side. On the 24V where do I start looking for where the barring tool goes?

OK, on edit, I looked at the service manual and see where it is at on the passenger side of bell housing. Thanks anyway! Chris

So yesterday I adjusted my valves. All were .003-4 loose. Barring tool worked great. Turning ratchet CCW caused engine to turn CW correctly looking from front. Had only a small distance to get IP at TDC. Did the first half and looked at damper the make a mark to turn crank 360 degrees and there was the timing light reflector that DDP put there when on their dyno years ago. So just watched for it to come up again to do the second half, setting IP mark at 6 O'clock.

Hardest part was getting valve cover to slide off overhead. Second hardest was removing breather. Used a filter wrench to unscrew it. Third hardest was a bike trips to boat to get barring tool and back a second time for a feeler gauge.

Overall it was not a bad project. Adjustments stayed pretty good while tighting lock nuts.

Put a little grease on barring tool and it turned very easily. Better than I remember on the boat engines 15 or 16 years ago. Guess I should run them again. Did them at 200 hours and now have around 2400 hours. I remember the boat valves being slightly tight. B150 are like 2/3's of a 12V. That makes them 8V's?
