There was a recall on a spring under the steering while because it was breaking. Could it be this is beginning to fail? Cannot remember the exact name of the spring but I am sure others know and will chime in. I know before I had mine changed under warrantly my ABS light would come on when turning the steering while then finally it just stayed on all the time. Hope this helps.

I think that spring is called the clock spring. . and I just had to trouble shoot mine as well, there is a senser on top of the chunck in the rearend. It controls the spedometer and the ABS. Thats what the dealership told me to check first. I replaced it for about $40. 00 from the dealership. It ended up being loose plugs on mine to fix the problem. . also, on the driver side under the hood there are 2 plugs in the corner next to the fire wall right up on top. that's what my problem was, they were loose. I took them off and cleaned them out and pluged them back in and my problem was fixed... hope this helps.

I had this problem over a few years where the light would come on intermittently then finally after a few years stayed on all the time.

I read the codes, followed the service manual, and replaced the ABS controller.

No change!

Finally found the problem: It was a short to frame of one of the wires coming up from the differential sensor. The location of the short on mine was close to the front fender.

Maybe this will help.
