Went with the Toyo MT's and need to adjust the speedometer. Called the dealer and they want $105 for the flash. Is there another dealer or someone else out there that will be willing to flash the computer at a lesser price? I live in Olympia but do most of my business in the Tacoma area. Any help would be great!

I have an 06. Called the dealer, they want an hour for labor. Tacoma speedometer offers the same service but charges $165 for using their bully dog programmer, which is not avaliable right now. Has anyone used a 4 wheel drive shop to get this accomplished?

06 and up is a totally different animal. You're either gonna have to bite the bullet or leave it the way it is.

Look at it this way, if it's off by 10%, every 10k miles you actually went 11k. Preserves your warranty a little longer ... .

Ya it sounds like I'm gonna wait till I get a programmer. I think it's highway robbery to charge that much to plug in a computer. I understand the cost of doing business, but how about giving the working man a break. The milage thing is not that big of a deal, just wanted it to be back to normal. Thanks for all the info!

I'm not sure, but I think anyone with a Smarty for an 06 truck, can use it to reset your speedometer, W/O having to change the VIN specific data. Someone else can chime in here if I'm wrong on this.

As a side note, I have a Smarty that I removed from my 06 truck that I haven't sold yet. If it can be of any use to you , let me know.
