My 05 was delivered w/o the adjustable pedals that I really wanted (got a rebate on the window sticker for a whopping 120 bucks). Turns out, the drive by wire module was having problems per dodge, so they stopped installing the adjustable units around the first of the year.

For about $250 bucks, you can now get the bulkhead, 2 pedals (if you are a 6 speed) the throttle and motor to adjust the unit. I installed my pedals tonight, and found that you don't have to pull the aluminum bulkhead, but rather can pull the pedals out individually. You must drop the steering column, but its a job that can be done in 3 hours. Then you add the new switch to the dash and all the wiring harnesses are taped up too. I'm not sure if you have to rewire the set up, since I believe the interior computer may be different.

Optional is the clutch rod change. The steel pin on the pedal is . 430, whereas the plastic pin on the stock pedal is 490, so you have to make a . 030 sleeve to take up the slack.

End result is, fantastic! Especially those with short legs. PM me if you need help and want to add the adjustable units.

Yes, need parts numbers... and any dealer out there that can get us a great price on the power pedal UNDELETE items!

Rather than respond to all the PM's I've got, here's the contact info. And after my being told by DC that it was impossible, I'm glad to report it is possible. :) Call Jeff Maves at 1-800-BOSSIER, a Dodge dealership in Texas. They will give you a great price, UPS your parts, and he know's the parts required. He spent a ton of time with me figuring out what was needed, and what wasn't. Tell him Tim sent you.

I am so much happier with the truck now. Now I just need to figure out how to add the adjustibles to my 03 Chevy. .

Good luck.

Hasselbach,

I noticed that you did this to an 05. You think it would work on an 04. 5?

Thanks.

Huskerman

Yes, but the 04. 5 throttle is cable controlled vs. the 05 drive by wire. Just make sure you get the 04. 5 pedals. Better yet, get the SRT pedals (which I had a set, but sold), and they look great with the stainless steel pedals. Still an easy swap.

Also, the BCM computer is different so I am told, which keeps the pedals from adjusting in reverse, so you probably will have to bypass the computer when you wire it in (I haven't done mine yet). The motor is DC, and the way they change the direction is just by switching the polarity at the DPDT switch (double pole, double throw). Its pretty easy to wire up, and the connectors are already wired in the loom to begin with.

Seems when one orders His truck with the options they want, there is less problems. My 04 was ordered with the adjustable pedals for my Wife. This was a good investment to suit the both of us. Sometimes modifications afterwards differs from the original OEM installation. Our truck is a year old now and up to now no problems.

This is very true, BUT when I ordered mine, the Adj. pedals were an option. Then after I ordered the truck I was told that I could not have them. After my truck was built (without them), they were available again. So if I want them, and I do, this is the only option I have now.
