The big bore? I usually use Lake City or Winchester. Lake City is much more consistent. I've got a bunch of Lake City '94 that is superb. I wieghed, turned necks, and weighed again... . they're almost perfect for the size!! Combine that with 240grs of V2029, a 750gr Barnes Bore-rider, and you've got a good 1-mile load!!!
Oh, wait, did you not mean that big a bore?!?!?

I use Winchester a lot in my Win Mags, as well as Norma, but it's hard to get, sometimes. Winchester is ok for the money, but you get a lot of waste. I'll weigh through 'em and sort according to increments of 5 grains. The majority I use, the rest gets stored in labeled boxes until I get enough to use... . Or it gets used for fireforming or testing. Or project rifles that will be sold.
It's been my experience that Norma has the best 300WM brass out there. I've had some reloaded 8-10 times. That's impressive. Federal is just as tough, but with a few more variances in lot numbers. Brass from several lot numbers will vary in hardness and capacity, sometimes. Winchester comes in behind that, and then Nosler... . Remington brass seems like it gets brittle and the necks will crack after 2-3 firings. The case also has less capacity. Annealing the necks makes them last longer, but why involve the extra time if you can get better, more consistent brass eslewhere? (please don't tell my cousin I said that... . he works for Remington R&D)
Speaking of Marlon, GHarm, check out the new Remington MSR action... have you seen this yet? I'm supposed to get an action and barrel extension in the next few months, but no garuantees, as I think Remington may have just won a contract with the Army.....
Remington Defense The barrels use a barrel extension like an AR, and are torque locked for headspace into the action, and the lugs of the bolt go up into the barrel, just like the AR!?!?! This is the kind of thing you'd think Chuck Norris would carry... . which speaking of Mr. Norris, have you seen the new expendables 2 movie coming out?!? With all the old name actors!?!? INCLUDING 72yr old Charles "Chuck" Norris!!!
I get distracted, easy don't I..... OH, look, squirrel!!!
