So I got a Utah dealer to agree to $10K off of a 2015 3500 last week ($7k dealer discount + $3k rebate). Yesterday, I had the dealer in contact with my financial guy. I then noticed the Ram website had upped the rebate from $3K to $4k off 2015 Bighorn long beds which is what I'm trying to buy in Utah. Does the dealer have to honor the new rebate?

As per yesterday afternoon, dealer told me they'd have to try to make it work since I'm requesting an additional $1k off. So now the deal is on hold...

Should I hold out? $1k is quite a chunk.

Factory rebates are based on the location you register the truck and what is in effect the day you purchase it. BTW, I had to pay Washington State sales tax on the 3K factory rebate, but not on the dealer discount.

SNOKING

They don't have to do anything. But if you balk on the buy, they will probably get nervous. They need to sell more than you need to buy

Welp....Haven't heard any word yet. I don't wanna lose the truck, but I don't want to have to pay anymore either. I've lost 4-6 trucks over the last few months because we've drug our feet too long a deals.

It's a G56 truck also, so there's not a lot to choose from. I'll call in a few hours to see what they have to say.

See if they'll meet you at least half way (if it seems like they don't want to deal). I think they want that $1000 profit. Maybe they knew there was a 4k rebate before you did?

There were only 3 g56 equipped trucks in Florida when i bought mine. I live in Miami. I paid a little extra to get mine shipped from N Carolina. I don't regret it. Love my truck. And there were a ton of rebates.

When I negotiated my truck the dealer said they'd recheck the rebate before delivery and give me the "best" rebate between when I ordered my truck and when I took delivery. Since the rebate isn't coming out of their pocket, I would assume they'd be fine with this. I've found you can easily get $10k off these trucks so you're not going to be asking for anything unreasonable. Chances are they want to get rid of the manual truck. It was probably a truck someone ordered and then left them hanging on. Since the dealers know the market is much smaller for manual equipped trucks they typically don't order them for their stock.

All the dealers i spoke to won't order a truck.without taking a $3k-$4k down payment

Don't let them see you sweat.......so to speak.

I was told that I would get every rebate available at the time of delivery. I am ordering thru Chrysler Affiliates Rewards Program.

I said that earlier. The Rebate is what is current at the time of the sale/closing, and is based on the rebate for the area that it is going to be licensed. I live and registered in Washington State and bought in Colorado. They needed my zip code to verify what the rebate was in my area.

Pretty cut and dry. If the rebate increased in the area that you are going to register it in, then you get it. If the rebate goes away before you close, you loose! SNOKING

We've decided that we're gonna buy this one, with or without the extra $1k off. It's a big amount to loose but I'm already getting $10k off, which is so much better than any dealer here in Ca is offering.

Despite the missing AUX switches, it has the features I want and is the right color, granite crystal. I'm content.

Wow, I have ordered many vehicles since the mid 90s and I have never put down a nickel. I'm getting ready to order a new truck now. Priced out at 78505. invoice is 71591. rebate is 3500 now and 1500 for business link. so 66,591 is what they want. I will wait for more rebates or work on the 2319 hold back money.

My Son and I sat with the Sales Manager at AutoNation in Seattle a year ago and ordered two trucks close to 150K in retail value with ZERO money out of our pockets.

Paid after the trucks showed up and only if they met our satisfaction.

Some guys buying out of state new trucks have had a tough time smogging them here. One guy went to the California referee and he decreed that they could use a Federal standard or something. Good luck. You've been through the wringer trying to find something.
Back in '06 my DSM unit had to have a California certificate but no emission test which is ridiculous.

All the trucks are 50 state legal now. A local rancher just brought home a used 2013 from Lytle, Texas that he bought visiting a bull sale. Had to get it weighed, a smog cert, pay tax and reg fee's and he was on his way.

Now if I was buying an older rig, I would be hesitant. I actually owned a new 2003 for a few months. That is until the 2004.5 HO California approved engines came out :D.

I've found that if you can find an ad price on a similar truck, almost any dealer will match it on a similar MSRP priced truck. Maybe you can find the color or options you prefer elsewhere. Never look anxious and walk out at least once!

It's been interesting making a sale over the phone and e-mails. I must say that it's more enjoyable than plopping my *** down for 4-6 hours at a dealership, haggling with a floor salesman.
