:) Hey fellas, any of you guys a fleet mechanic for town trucks? My question is how do you rate the service duty of the oil for mild, medium or severe duty applications. These are Ford box trucks at 33,000 lbs and run in town between tree cutting and chipping jobs. They run empty half the time. Personally, I would think severe with town, but at 32quarts of Delo 400 a change, i would like your opinions please. Cat has a recommendation of miles, but they rate the duty. Cat 3126B turbos. Thanks fellas!!! Tim

I would think severe as they probably idle quite a bit and get moved short distances without getting up to full temperature.

Just my $. 02

I don't know guys. I drive a F*** with a p-joke in it now for work. I saw my new service truck today. F650 with a C7 cat in it. I have to say its better then a f350 joker!!

When I drive my 93 its a whole bunch of therapy! I start her up and listen to the pipes and the day is lots better!! And its finally getting warm enough to run with the windows open a little!

I cna't wait to straght pipe the new service truck!

Michael

THANKS

:) Thanks for the input, fellas. Since they run in town, I'll follow the severe guideline! I put a big service due at --------miles on the dash so the fellas can schedule it with me for service. Hour meters is good advice. Now for the chippers and stump grinders, no, I won't go there. Tim
