I only have one sugestion for you Mark, Make up a lable to mark the inlet end so as not to confuse dummys like me. It is possible to mount the muffler either way but I'm sure it makes a difference in how it sounds and performs. I thought I had it right but made a quick phone call to you just to confirm before I bolted things together.

Thanks again.

I think this whole rice burner thing is just for the 600 motors. Or maybe just autos. My buddies 05 auto sounds pretty good, but not nearly as good as my 03. If I can figure out how, I have a video of me on a dyno and it really doesn't do justice to the deepness of the sound unless you have a decent sound setup. We had the computer plugged into the tv to watch the vids and it is hooked to the stereo and I was amazed at how well the low, deep sound of the exhaust recorded! I got alot of compliments at May Madness on the sound of the exhaust. BTW, mine has nothing in it but pipe and the Aeroturbine. No cat, no muff, no resonator tip, nuthin. LOVE IT!

Also, if you put a 5" tip on it it *may* possibly help deepen out the sound and clean it up. It did on mine. Also, there are resonator tips available. Worst case, install a muff after it but don't take it out. I would definetly kep it in there if it was me, muff or not.

Diesel Nut,

If you have a digital camera, record your video onto a dvd or vhs, play it on your TV, then with your digital camera rerecord your video with the memory card setting. After your done recording it hook up your camera with the USB cord to your computer and open it. If your running XP it will help you open it with the windows program. Upload it, then save it on your desktop, then upload it here. It should work. I would like to see and hear your video.

I have the cat pipe delete and the MBRP muffler on my 05. At first I thought it was a tad too louc, but I have gotten used to the louder exhaust and now enjoy the sound. idle sounds a bit wierd though, kind of raspy. I've heard others install the aero turbine and the mbrp muffler to get rid of the raspy noise.

Mark, I had to cut my tail pipe about 3 inches to install it in the exact same location as the stock tail pipe, is this normal? Everything else installed great, except i also notched the cat pipe and muffler similar to the stock set up.

Mark, will running your muffler with the aeroturbine kill the drone?

And if I do just swap the mufflers and leave the cat, does yours have a drone when towing. I'm almost always towing and I hate drone.

I have it installed just like that and have not experianced any drone at all, running empty or towing.

Mark, I too had to cut about 2-1/2" off my tailpipe to get things to line up. It is probably just a matter of where the factory welded the hangers on the tailpipe. ????

I had to cut about 3 inchs off of mine as well, no big deal though I had access to a sawsall.

TDreiling,

I don't have a drone with mine.

Oo. Quadzilla XZT is here, as soon as rain stops it's install time.

I did not think that I had a drone, but since I put the new exhaust on I realize that I did have a very slight drone.

Is your truck a long bed? I think the drone is a short bed thing, mine had a drone between 2000-2200 rpm when stock. Now it is more of a roar. I'm hoping MBRP muffler will cure that.

I like the sound of my aero turbine but i wish it was a little louder. I have had mine on for about 6 or 8 weeks now and I ordered the stainless piping and after being on there for that short of time it is just as rusted as my factory system which has been there since day one over a year ago, so if I did it again I would not have ordered the stainless.

"TDreiling" "Is your truck a long bed?"

No it is a short bed, and it was between 2000 & 2200 rpm that I the drone would kick in, but, like I said it was so slight that it wasn't until I didn't have it that I noticed I did have it.

I hope that makes sense. Cause I have not had 1 problem with my truck, no death wobble, no drive train vibration, no drone. Of course I now realize that I had a drone but it wasn't noticable until it was gone.

Quadzilla XZT installed and the performance is terrific Oo. Oo. Oo. Oo.
