Well, after much procrastion I ordered the #5 TST plate ($50. after returning the old #8) and AFC spring kit. Installed the plate today and decided to try the stronger of the two springs in an effort to control smoke.
After a test drive a moment ago I now know that I made a mistake, while the truck pulles stronger once boost is up, it takes what seems like forever to start building boost and making power. But on the plus side there is very little smoke and a noticable increase in power according to the old Seatometer.
Guess I'll try the light spring tonight.
