I was one of those guys who spent a lot of time making a replacement tube for the factory baffle. Turned out sexy as I could want it to be, but I wasnt impressed with the result other than the sound (sounded like it had more power but didnt)
I got flamed (on another site) for expressing my opinion on what was happening with the air as it passes through the factory set up vs. a smooth bore. Basically I felt that the factory set up causes just enough turbulence to not allow the air to spin with the turbo. I felt that I had lost a slight amount of throttle response and changed my design a bit and got the response back and kept the cool sound that everyone is after with the eliminator tube. Like I said I got flamed for this and was basically called a liar , so take it as you will
I would like to see someone do some legitimate dyno tests to test my theory.
we are not talking major HP difference here, but a difference none the less.
