I installed the Rancho ones. They have the poly bushings in them and are made of rectangular tubing. I bought them @ 4 wheel parts for $225. 00 Jobber price! DC wanted $128. 00 just for the lower one that was bent.

The DT control arms look a little to rough for me, they do not have the finished look of a well made product. While they made be strong? I don't know, but they do not have that finished look of a well crafted piece. my opinion... .

Is this because they're not $900? or have the Kore name on them?

No..... because they look a little rough, as in not finished very well...

I am not a KORE junkie, nor do I care to name drop. . I am a fabricator and look for more then just the price. The KORE control arms are EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY nice. They are strong looking and they took the time and effort to finish them, so they look like a piece of modern automotive art compared to the DT control arms. Sorry I just tell it like I see it.

I have buddies with the DT arms and zero problems. They look finished to me, but I am not an ace fabricator with a CNC machine in my basement.

OK I'm going crazy trying to find these on any site 4wheelparts or even on the Rancho site. Got a part number or an actual web address / link that I can click on to locate?

Thanks

I have the DT profab arms, they are sturdy to say the least, the tires will still rub, mine do, but i am still running on factory alloy rims too, a lil different backspacing will cure that up easy. I love my DT's I have had em since june and not a problem yet, look mean too

Control arms

Good Luck

Those look like the adjustable ones from SOLID STEEL INDUSTRIES(they make the sterring brace and 03 trackbar conversion for the second genners). I have both on my rig and just put the DT PROFAB 1/2 longer arms on mine a couple of weeks ago. Very good finish and are very strong(only problem was that when i went to install after taking the stock arms off was that DT sent me the wrong size bushings for my year :-{} ----99 and up you need the larger sleeves,5/8 for the top,9/16 for the bottom ones). Oh well i had to wait cause i really didn't feel like putting it back together and having to do it all over again  , so i waited. With the new arms and TOYO---35/75/16 no rubbbing with the KORE RECON SYSTEM. Later DW

http://www.solidsteel.ca/Products.htm - Here's what I found when I searched for "SOLID STEEL INDUSTRIES" ???

http://store.summitracing.com/egnsearch.asp?N=400135+314525+115&autoview=sku -These are the Skyjackers I like them but when you "check to make sure this part fits your application" it lists for 3500. When you search based on application of 99 2500 it yeilds nothing except complete kits w/springs, shocks, etc. wtf?

http://www.gorancho.com/root.html - the Rancho site is so not helpfull can't even find write up on arms???

I'd prefer the rectangular tubing ones over the rest - I'd get them if I could figure out how the heck to find them??? Anyone actually have a link they could paste so I can find? I'm all searched out . . . .

Ted - I didn't mean to jump your post but I'm having the same issues as you are. I'm liking the rectangular tubes with poly bushings but, I'm having a hard time locating them. The Rancho site absolutly stinks as far as trying to find them - it was mentioned in a reply to your post that Rancho makes the rectangular ones, I called one 4 wheel parts (I think - I'm loosing my mind trying to find them) and the person that was helping me was put on hold by Rancho so he said he'd call me back with whatever they told him - maybe there's a message @ work when I get in tomorrow???

Will keep replying with what ever I find - Have you decided what you are doing yet?

I need to replace my control arm bushings and figured I would just replace the whole arms with something aftermarket. This will also help save my tires which do rub on the control arms.

What aftermarket arms are people using?

Rancho, Kore... other??

Happy?

Carli Suspension just released their Gen II control arms. They basically look identical to their Gen III but obviously made to Gen II specs. Give Sage a call:

The Carli Suspension arms are made of 4130 Chromoly rectangle tubing. They are probably the strongest arms on the market and definately the only ones that are TIG welded instead of MIG welded. Check them out at:

Joe, I ended up with the skyjacker arms with bushing ends and am very happy. I would just buy them and stop screwing with rancho. If a company makes it that hard to get their product then they do not deserve the business.

I was just at Carli's 20 minutes ago. After seeing those arms, they are going on my truck! I will be giving them a good work out over the Whoops at Glamis this week end.

yep Joe those are the arms I ended up with. They were cheap and here fast. I would have preferred the Kore arms but this is my tow rig not a desert racer and as such I can not justify the expense.

Ted

Ted - Let me know how the install goes. Should be pretty straight forward. I'm interested in snags along the way. I'm considering the DTs with the 1/2" out I'm not sure though. Did you get them from Summit Racing?

well the install was very easy except the bolts were a little tough to get out of the stock arms. A little heat took care of that.

Joe, I was wondering what the highjacking apology was for, but i guess you did not realize this thread was from march :) The arms have been in since late spring and have worked just fine. It really is a pretty easy install.

Ted

made my own bars, 1-inch longer plus adjustable. using new QA-1 hemi ends that are teflon lined, so the elements won't harm them as much. not in the picture are the spacers to make up the pocket length. tubing is 1. 5 c/m . 125 wall. with r & l weld ends for easy adjustment.
