After our recent trip to Moab, Utah putting a respectable 19,000 pounds, I found that I'm running pretty hot pulling the grades. At some points I was even turning on the heater to dissipate more heat.

I contacted Griffin Radiator and they don't put on out for the CTD as no one as stepped up to the plate and donated their radiator for 10 weeks so that they can use it as a pattern. Does anyone else make a replacement super cooler radiator?

Have you checked your stock radiator for oil? My 96' had some build up of oil from the draft tube. The oil attracts dust which reduces cooling. Might be worth your time to have the radiator professionally dipped. I sold the 96' before cleaning the radiator.

when i had mine out while doing a head gasket i cleaned probably a pound of crap out of it's fins, i covered the back half of the flat bed with stuff by just hitting it with a air blower, degreaser and garden hose got a ton more and a 2nd session with the air blower got the rest, and it only had a small oily spot it was mostly bugs and dirt

Great information from all. First I'm going to clean the radiator out. The places my CTD has been dirt could be a major factor. I checked Modine and they were around $300 (not too bad). Ron Davis and Griffin want my radiator as a template (for around 10 weeks :{ ) AND $750 clams. I don't think so.

I believe the radiator is coming out for a complete cleaning inside and out. Coolant change

Thanks again for all the information. If the cleaning doesn't do it I'll be talking to the Boca folks. Thanks CrosbyJ.
