aftermarket shifter 1990 ram(Gertag transmission)

Is there anyone who makes an aftermarket short throw shifter for the Gertag 360 transmission. Will a shifter for a NV3500 work such as a a Hurst Comp Plus????

Nothing I have seen in an after market shifter. Nor any conversation on the forum. I would like to have one myself.

You could take the cheap route and use a shift handle from a Dakota. It even uses the same thread. The one in my truck came out a a 90 Dak with a 4cyl. Feels real nice with a vintage Pistol Grip on top of it.

James. . It sure do look nice!! I fabricaterd an off-set bracket and bolted it to the existing shifter stub. You can get a real Hurst Pistol Grip from Brewers Performance in Ohio. Great service and $80. 00 cheaper than Year One... . Jeff

I didn't understand exactly what you were wanting in a short shift. I was thinking on the lines of what the 4500 has where the shift tower is toward the rear of the cover. The shift dynamic is different on those.



However, I was watching a driver trying to shift a fairly new Dodge and he was certainly having more difficulty than I ever do with the Getrag. What I would like for myself would be a cover assembly that had the tower on the rear which would move the shifter closer to where I sit (tall and long legged) thus giving me a short shift simply by reducing the length of the shift lever.



Now if someone made those- - - -
