Other than an alternater pick-up, how do you guys hook up and aftermarket tach (like a Stewart Warner GUS, or an Auto Meter Tach) to a 24v?

Is there modifications needed to the balancer?

Who sells the best tach pick up?

Is it like a Crank trigger setup?

Thanks in advance, note: I have searched this topic and found no definitive answers for the question at hand.

just buy the autometer tach, It's a very nice unit with recall it comes with the pick up very nice unit, and gives you details on what mod's you need to do to the balancer.

is it a big job Zach?

what needs to be done to the balancer?

I have the stewart warner tach. Hook up is a breeze, no modifications to the balancer. I have mine wired into the cam sensor, you could also wire it into the crank position sensor. Very nice unit, has memory recall, shift lights etc.

You could also use the pick ups that require you to epoxy the magnets right on the damper, they work great as well. I know a lot of the guy's who are pulling use this system as it it comes with the Corsa. You can actully just purcahse the pick up through them as well, Schieds is a distrubitor.
