More than a year ago, my father-in-law re-did my utility room while I was laid up. In May, I began to repay his deed, when I removed the heads from his class C 79 Dodge motorhome, to be reconditioned.
The heads turned out to be junk, with cracks between the valves. We ran into trouble locating heads because the engine is a fairly rare HO 360 and none of the junk yards around here had a match. After almost three months of false starts, we came up with the correct heads, although one of them was bad too. Fortunatly the machine shop had one on the shelf.
I went out to the in-laws yesterday and installed the rebuilt heads. The engine started up and ran perfectly on the first crank.
Boy does it feel good when a job comes together like that
