2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission air bag light

The other day I was taking my daughter to day care and I made a sharp right hand turn, and I heard something clicking in the steering wheel. It startled me for a minute, then my air bag light came on. I didn't think much about it at the time, but now I noticed my cruise and my steering wheel mounted radio controls don't work. I have an 01. Has this happened to anyone else? If so can I fix it? Whats the cost?

Your horn doesnt work either

Your clock spring is broken. It sits just under the steering wheel and is responsible for powering your buttons on the steering wheel. I just replaced one yesterday in a friends truck. Its really not a big job if your a little careful, patient, and have some tools. You will need to remove the steering wheel, no big deal.

I got the clockspring from my dealer. I'll pm you with the price. If you decide to do it yourself, I'll post instructions.

I believe that should be covered for free on a recall with unlimited mileage. You might want to check with your dealer 1st.

Thanks for the info, turns out it was a recall issue. The dealer had it fixed in about 45

minutes
