Air bags

Hi Everybody,

I can't think of a better place to ask my question than the TDR.

I know there have been volumes written on this forum(s) about air bags. And I have had various sets on my vehicle over the years. I am not asking what they are, rather a question about fitment.

I will shortly be the owner of a 2022 Ram Diesel, chassis cab, SRW, etc. for a flat bed, popup camper.

I would like to have a set of air bags.

BUT, all of the brands I have looked at specifically state 'will not fit chassis cab'. Does this mean they are totally impossible? Or is it that so few are requested they simply don't make a bracket or something. Can a custom made bracket be fashioned, or what. Any and all thoughts will be appreciated.

Things can always be done custom, it just takes time and money. The frame and suspension of the C&C are different than a pickup.

Firestone appears to have one, doesn't specify SRW/DRW so not sure. It does say it needs 8" of frame to tire clearance.

I want a flatbed and the increased payload. And, I don't want duals.

The pickup has a higher RAWR and GVWR, which means it likely has more usable payload once you outfit either one with a flatbed.

Because the frame width and design is similar on a 3500 C&C and 4500 you may be able to use the upper mount from a 4500 and the lower mount from a 3500 pickup. It’s likely worth a phone call to airlift.
