Guys, should I let them tear apart the cab to replace the heater core and whatever all is involved in fixing my AC?

its a 2019 3500 with dual climate, and it just never truly gets cold.

They are also replacing the 12" radio system as it keeps crashing.

I am concerned that it may not all go back together well. To top it off, this is the first one this dealer will have done, though its a bigger dealer who typically does well on service.

Anyone had this done?

are there some threads already about this? My search came up empty.

Thanks,

Dave

Yes there is a TSB for 19-20 trucks. (Pre July, 30 2020 built, 1500, 2500, 3500, C&C, pretty much everything)

There have been some threads on here.

TSB is from Nov 2020.

It's stated as an 11hr or so job, they have a lot of info for the tech to follow, besides the normal repair procedure.

If they follow the TSB and repair procedures should be fine.

It's way too much for even my long posts.

If customer complains about poor AC performance.

If left middle is warmer then right side...

It goes over a bunch of info for the tech and dealer to order the correct parts.

It does not include the actual repair procedures.

Short story long, I would be getting it fixed of you have the issue, engineers have worked pretty hard to compile these procedures and parts. Might as well get it back up to expectations.

Parts have been ordered, sounds like ten days out.
It will be the first one my service dept will have done, Christopher‘S in Golden, CO

hopefully someone will do a write up thread on the procedure. used to have a lot of that on TDR back in the day
Yep, going to be alot of these from the sounds of it, and when the folks don't get it addressed during warranty, should see some a few years from now.

Crystal Ball for 2025 future thread: Why does the AC suck in my 2019 Ram, when my 96 froze me out.

@NIsaacs, Nick what came of your AC issues on your new ride? I lost track of that repair.

Best of luck!! Take some pictures.... FWIW, Honda messed up my wife's dash in her car replacing the airbag during the recall.... some techs go in with hammers and chisels I think,,,

They are also replacing my 12” infotainment system that keeps crashing.
They replaced the ente from t axle due to one shock mount pulling off it. (I’d already welded it back on while waiting for ehe axle, but figure why not get a new differential with 32k fewer miles. (And brand new fluid.)

I had the TSB done and it does make a difference. Unfortunately I now get a rattle from under my dash going over even smaller bumps. Was a headache getting the shop to even agree to do it as the tech had no desire to fix it and kept saying it was functioning normal…which was true but the normal sucked which is why they have a tech bulletin…. I will get the rattle looked at when I feel like dealing with them again
