Replaced my turbo housing weekend before last. I took it out to make the switch. While reinstalling, It appears that the oring that goes between the cold side turbo outlet and the elbow that heads up front to the intercooler is flattened out too much to effect a good seal.
Headed over to my local cummins supplier that promptly gave me the wrong o-ring (my fault - I gave him what I thought was the correct part #). Went back to try to get the correct one. Only way we found the correct one was by getting the elbow part # and running it. The price just went from $4 to $17. Turns out mine is some type of rectangular cross section o-ring. They are trying to get it from the cummins factory. 8 days and no luck.
Stopped off at the dealer to see if by some chance they could come up with one. DC no longer supplies that part and there is not a dealer on their computer system that has one.
If Cummins can't come through for me, this will bite! I do not really want to start using RTV to make seals but I might have too.
Any one else have any ideas?
