on the 93 the charge air temp senser that controls the KSB solenoid is bad and the local parts houses cant get or dont list it... anyone know were to get the thing at, by phone or net?? other than dealer, cummins part maybe, any ideas?? Jim

I am not sure which it is. I guess it must be the switch, the thing has three prongs and is a 1/2 " thread and is closest to the front of the engine, compairing the two.

The one closest to the front of the engine is the temp sensor. The rearward one with the copper end on it is the switch. If the switch malfunctions, the KSB will stay on. This can cause an o-ring on the back side of the injection pump to blow out, and leak everywhere. If there is 12V at the KSB after the engine has warmed up, the the air switch is probably bad. The air temp sensor has only one function--an input to the PCM for the intake heaters.
