Competition WOW, Christian makes a (??.??) @ 118! Is it for real?

well let me throw in what i did for you to mull over. instead of spraying the outside of the intercooler with water or adding a air/water changer, i rigged up a water injection system. i used an 11 gallon tank i had laying around and used a 220PSI spray pump i bought from Northern Tool. i plumbed it in into the intake horn using a NOS 125HP jet. i used an adjustable pressure switch to activate it off of boost pressure. the system worked quite well and I even played around with water and alcohol mixes. i found a 20% mix of methyl gave the truck a nice kick in the shorts and the water sprayed in only under heavy boost. i could run all day long (until the water ran out) at WOT and not go over 1100 degrees.

the drawbacks??? the tank has to be refilled, the pump cost $200 bucks. (i had my tank hidden under the back seat, making it hard to refill) the use of a bigger tank and in a better place would extend the refill intervals.

the benefits??? more alky means more power, tow a load over a hill under full power, lower egts when in use.

You don't need a pump if you use a pressurized tank. you can use a little boost pressure to spray the water. you really only need about 20-30 psi and a fan spray nozzle.

Then a solenoid and pressure switch do the rest.

what????

Gonzo and I talked about this last year and he helped me tremendously. I think he has the same setup on his pulling tractor and gave me all the part numbers and plumbing advice. is that Gonzo's name or something???

Mark i heard of that use too. my problem was the tank i was using was a thin aluminum rectangular job and didnt want to water down the inside of my truck. I like to hide my best work :D the other problem i saw was i was running 40PSI of boost and wanted a good adomization of the charge. the other half of the nozzle even saw a bit of NOS a few times too :D i didnt inhale though :D

yes the boost charged tank would work well on a moderate tow vehicle. if you search for the thread we talked about this in last year. there was a fella that used his that way and had good results.
