Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Airtex lift pump?

Hi,



I recently got one as a spare from NAPA and my truck does have the relocation kit (moved it to the frame rail below the driver’s seat) and was reading in the last Geno's catalog that it said these units would not work horizontally though that is how the brackets orientate it so are they talking about another style or is this not a good one to install?

I've been using one mounted horizontally for years, first in the side of the engine and now the frame rail, without any problems. I can't imagine why it would make any difference.

Had one on a Stationary Gen Set mounted it vertically (not reading the instructions) and It ran but when it shut down and sat for awhile I had to prime the pump for some reason then talked to a Mechanic at work that got me the pump and he said to mount it horizontally and it worked fine. DONT ASK ME??? Could be a different mod.
