I think you read that wrong , no mention of an actuator costing $2200 from bcbender .

You are correct, I did read that wrong, I thought he was referring to his actuator replacement.

yep... FWIH Turbo actuators are about 4k so if one goes out after the warranty expires its paid for in that one repair... I had a maxcare on my 04 and it paid for itself when the driver seat assy and the turbo were replaced... parts cost was about 2200$ and it cost me $100 (warranty back then cost me $1600) so from then on it was gravy for the front axle shaft, drive line, window master sw... If only those darn blend doors would've gone out under warranty :rolleyes:.... but then they would've just broke again so I am glad I went with the steel ones.

Mine is the 8yrs 125000. Max Care. It cost$3100. $100 deductible
If I never use it through the life of the term they will refund the cost of the max care.
That's what a friend did with his '07 5.9. $2700 went back into his pocket. Minor issues were fixed locally at a private shop.

Got the truck back yesterday and headed South and made it to Seattle. Hard knock and power loss and before ya know it trans temp is 250 and loosing speed and had to stop along the left shoulder along I-5 at around 10:30 pm.. After a long night of trying to get proper tow vehicles and being told I did not have coverage on my truck but did on the RV. Lots of dropped calls finally after 4 hours a Trooper stopped and said he could help get er dun. Told him shat I needed to tow a 10k truck and 25k RV he got his dispatcher to help and another 4 hours later the truck was towed 65 miles to Dealer and rV back home, oh yea $1,800 out of my pocket. Agent got things straightened out so I will submit invoice.

I was told this am talking to my parts friend that a trans is in Portland and other lines etc needed to have a clean system are being ordered. Not sure if Mechanic issue or trans. He mentioned something about a drum being spun???

Bottom line I will have a new AISIN for my trip South! More info to follow.

That sucks!!!

Must be some kind of labor / mechanic issue...IMO.

My AS69RC rolled over 392k miles today.

Any carnage pics?

It certainly can....if the correct dealership personnel starts wrenching on one.

Seems to be in his case at it was running strong before the gasket repair.
I wonder what they messed up or if it was just coexisting and has fauled at the same time.

I always trust the people in the first time that they know their business.

I will find out the problem first if the week. I can tell you this Mechanic has a great reputation and is their transmission guy. But as they say anyone can screw up.

Parts friend said he was thankful this didn’t happen going thru the Siskiyou's in Northern CA. My gear selector was disabled and my EB was also. Could have been a wild ride! So I could have been freewheeling down a 6% grade at 35k combined. Plus having the WTF going thru my mind would have been a bit scary.

Did that run last year. I only have maybe 8500lb but everyday I'm thankful for the EB. It makes everything easier. No gasser ever again as long we are west of the Rockies.

Ron, don't know if you've thought about having them change out rear main seal, but would be cheap insurance if you plan on keeping this truck.

Thanks for the tip, I will have them look at the rear engine main seal and decide. They may do it for free for my inconvenience.

GS, I am on board with the if it ain't broke theory!!!

I have to say I have had a few leaks. Front engine crank seal, either input on transfer case or trans output was leaking. Mechanic in CA replaced both as a nice gesture. His repairs have all been perfect.

Must be the AMZ/OIL.

I am thinking it would have been a butt clincher for sure. I have had the TH turn off and all of a sudden realize I am hitting my service brakes and gaining speed and then see the TH is off. Not sure why but this happen at times.
