Aisin transmission fluid change

Ugh, service manual note for a 2013:

TRANSMISSION FILL
To avoid overfilling transmission after a fluid change or overhaul, perform the following procedure:

Remove dipstick and insert clean funnel in transmission fill tube.

Add following initial quantity of Mopar® ASRC ATF to transmission:
If only fluid and filter were changed, add 6.8L (7.2 quarts) of ASRC to transmission.

If transmission was completely overhauled and the torque converter was replaced or drained, add 13L (13.75 quarts) of Mopar® ASRC ATF to transmission.



Check the transmission fluid and adjust as required.




I seem to recall reading this elsewhere before I bought a manual as well.

I agree, but with lighter load I would still do it anyway.

I have always done a complete change, 86 C20 with Turbo 400 I gave to my Daughter, has over 400K on it and still shifts like new.

99 Tahoe 245K same thing.

When the owner's manual calls for a fluid (or fluid and filter) change, all that is required is the standard pan drop. A "complete flush" is not required. But for those who want to change "100%" of their fluid, you are certainly welcome to do that.

Why would anyone change "PART" of their fluid???????? Would you change part go your engine oil? I just don't get it. I have always done a complete fluid exchange or complete drain if the converter is tapped.

Draining 50% or less makes no sense to me.

So you did not change ALL the trans fluid?

Personally I never have or never will do a partial fluid change. I don't change "part" of my engine oil.

You need to do a fluid exchange. Would you do a partial oil change?

Like I say do you change part of your engines oil?

Still waiting on something in writing showing to ONLY drain the pan.

I did a complete fluid exchange on my 11 HO by popping apart one of the cooler lines up high by the radiator on the drivers side. Attached a hose to the push side placed hose in bucket that had volume lines on it. After draining the pan and replacing the exact amount that came out of the pan so the trans was "FULL" again. I would then have someone start the truck and as soon as the fluid coming out started to sputter stop the engine. Refill with the exact amount just removed. Repeat until you see the fluid color change. Know what the total capacity is so you can keep an eye on the volume removed , the color will change instantly.

By replacing with the exact amount each time you will be full when complete.

I don't know if the hose connections are similar on the new truck but I am sure it won't be hard to find a suitable location.

IMHO if you are going to spend the time replace ALL the fluid.

and make sure it was the right fluid. I called Mobil and talked with a tech who looked it up and he told me that it would not work only Mopar ASRC should be
used.

Crawl under your truck and look for a yellow sticker on the side of the AS69RC and see what it says.

I talk to Aisin lead guy in N/A ,He new info on the unit that only a very informed Person would have access to, He clearly told Me over the phone that ALL Aisin RAM production built transmissions are filled with 3309 Mobil back in 2014.

This is a email response I received back from Mobil...I looked at your picture.....now I am really confused....but if Mobil says wont work then I will pay a little
more for Mopar brand to be safe, although it may very well be made by Mobil..LOL
