Just curious how this fluid has come to be recommended in the Aisin?

Interesting they list this fluid as compatible with VW G-055 fluid which I have had a hard time finding domestic fluids that meet that spec.

This is a email response I received back from Mobil...I looked at your picture.....now I am really confused....
Did you look at the sticker on your truck???? The part that's not visible says ExxonMobil 3309 ATF......................if it wasn't 12*F I'd go snap a pic of it where you can read it all...........
I talk to Aisin lead guy in N/A ,He new info on the unit that only a very informed Person would have access to, He clearly told Me over the phone that ALL Aisin RAM production built transmissions are filled with 3309 Mobil back in 2014.

Greg this is what the 1000s time we posted this.

At least !!!!!!

Then.....we're still never taken seriously!!!!

I talked to Mobil when I was in the market for fluid. He said they had not specifically tested it on the Ram and did not seek official "approval" from Ram. However, the Mobil fluid meets the specs that Aisin lists, Tier IV, 3309 type, etc. I used it at 30,000 miles and the trans has performed identically before and after.

Just one question, I read the report. Why did you choose to change the Trans Fluid at such a low mileage to begin with. When the owners manual calls to have the transmission fluid change at between 60,000 and 96,000 miles?

Actually....the AS69RC's have 30,000 mile change intervals.
30,000 miles = drain & fill
60,000 miles = drain & fill + replace sump filter
90,000 miles = drain & fill
120,000 miles = drain & fill + replace sump filter

You see the pattern for future services......

I have a 2004 with the 48RE. The factory manual states that the normal procedure for changing the transmission fluid is to drop the pan, remove the filter, then reassemble. Add fluid to proper level. I realize everyone is talking about the AISIN automatic, but I would assume the procedure would be the same.

Below is an interesting graph showing what the fluid level should be at each temperature. This is provided in the service manual. The procedure is to hook up a DRB scan tool to monitor temperature, and fill to the appropriate level depending on measured temperature.
