Alfa OBD II Capabilities Thread - Please Post what you have done.

I was able to turn of the seatbelt chime on a 2019 with key-less go.
Used a way that I found on YouTube.

Costco has Samsung tablets on special now. The inexpensive one is about $130 when I was last there, and works just fine for Alfa OBD. Also my $10 dongle works just as well as my OBD Link MX+.

Just wanted to add that I was able to turn on the VTA (vehicle theft alarm). Was able to activate it with AflaOBD. Gives you the blinking red led in the cluster down with where the EB icon is. Locked with FOBIK, then used key to unlock drivers door. With finger on the unlock button, opened the door and bingo, the horn started blaring! Nice option and also has hood monitoring if you have factory remote start. Was pretty simple to do.

KADOTECH bypass cable came yesterday, so looking forward to getting things set up and seeing what I can do...

Id really like to set / change the heated seat and steering wheel parameters if possible... right now it comes on EVERY TIME the truck is started and the ambient outside is less than 40... Id really like it to only come on when the ambient outside is less than 40 and the coolant temp is low.. who knows.. but interesting stuff to look at.

I ordered Bypass cable, purchased app and tablet today. After having Service DEF see dealer message come up I’m hoping the advanced diagnostics will allow me to clear derate message if it ever pops up again. I hate feeling helpless and being under the dealerships thumb.

Can you see the black box data with Alfa. One of my trucks was recently wrecked and I would really like to know how fast it was going and if the brakes were applied.

@CBari, I don't believe that you can see that info. I could be wrong and that once that type of incident happens, it may appear in the module choices. Maybe someone else can chime in.

You could always call and talk to the dealership, I believe that information is retrievable through witech.

Not available in wiTECH. You need an EDR, Event Data Recorder. Pretty expensive if you get all the adapters. One of the inspectors I work with has one for his insurance work.

Ok, I have read through most of this thread before asking these question and I have found some of my answers but not all.

1) Changing the set pressures on the tire monitoring. Yes I believe I understand that it does do this.
2) Turning off the Seat belt alarm I can't find a definitive answer on this one. I know of the whole key and seat belt 3 times thing, but I have non keyed trucks and it hasn't worked on them. It did on my 13 non-keyed truck but everything newer it hasn't worked.
3) I understand Apple products are out, My question is will it work on a MacBook running a bootcamp or parallels windows 10? I have found that everything that is windows only that I have tried on the windows partitions work just like it does on a windows pc, just wondering if anyone else has tried it.

Ok finally used the Alfa, that I purchased back in December last week. Changing the tire pressures was a piece of cake. I poked around and tried to find other stuff that might be useful to me and low and behold I found the seat belt chime.

IPC - Seatbelt Alert System - Disabled did the trick.

By the way never tried it on the MacBook bought a cheap tablet like others suggested.

Enabled trailer naming on 8.4
Global down, thou I haven't used it
Increased headlight voltage on dad's '17 to match my '18.

What I have wanted to do but been unable

Increase fuel tank size
Activate compass on 8.4


The exhaust brake is part of the ECM so we can't adjust that with AlfaOBD

I have a 3500 so I haven't messed with TPMS settings.

I would have to dig back into it to get exact details, but there is a desired voltage for low/high beams and it was lower on the 17 than the 18 so I increases it. I think it was less than .5V. I seem to recall setting them to 14.4V, but it’s been a while.

Yes. OBDLink MX or MX+ are the best choices with AlfaOBD.

I have poked around but can't find anything on the radio, I think I have seen post on changing the background image so I assume you can access it. What I want to change is when your on the phone it turns the music off. My 13 doesn't do that but my 18 does, any ideas?

Has anyone used AlfaOBD to troubleshoot which Park Assist sensor is bad? My truck thinks I have something close to the left front when there is nothing there. I have already tried cleaning the sensor.

I have not used Alpha for this. However for some information on your issue, Mitchell speaks to a "decoupler ring" that is on the sensor, and inspecting it for damage. From pictures I have found it looks to be a teflon sleeve that encircles the end of the sensor. I can imagine if this sleeve is split it could allow ultrasonic waves to leak to the attachment point and set up a false return signal to the sensor itself. Think of the sleeve as an ultrasonic insulator.
