Has anyone activated these? If so did it disable anything you already had? My truck is a limited, I dont know if I have these two items that just need to be enabled, or if I need to buy the components and install them. The bed camera is nice but since I changed my RV over to a gooseball,

on my 20, I have all these (rain sensing, auto dimming, cargo cam, bed lights, rear cam, etc... they all work and not sure why you cannot see the goose ball, but I can with my 20" bed height fuel tank installed. Can switch the cam from bed to tailgate, zoom, etc all on the 12" display..not the rear view mirror, that would be a deal breaker I think, the GMC I test drove the rear view mirror was a display screen and it felt weird.

I can not see the gooseball because I have a hard tri fold bed cover. I can leave it on while towing a gooseneck, but even folded extends out just enough to block seeing the ball in the bed.

Here are some instructions. They may be different So I think the you bought you are going to pop he OBD plug out of the holder and plug it in to the end of your new cable. them pop the new plug into the hold , the the small pug follow the directions I posted.

Is this the preferred cable / vendor to use? I am ready to finally pull the trigger on it and wanted to confirm.

That cable directly from the vendor (linked), the MX+ and a android device (I snagged an old kindle fire from my in-laws) is the gold standard. Most users have this setup so there’s tons of YouTube vids, and forum posts on how exactly to do what you are looking to do with the same setup.

Yep, I have a Kindle Fire, I hate it but it is android and free so I will try it out. Thanks for the response, Im going to get it on order.

It was a yuge learning curve for me, as I’ve been IOS since the beginning. there was quite a process to get the google play store (where you purchase the alfa from) to work with the kindle, but there’s info out there on how to do it. Also downloading your factory files to google docs from alfa is slightly different than other android devices but for the price I paid for the kindle (free) it was worth the extra hassle.

Maybe it’s because Im on an iPad? Beats me. Nothing to click...

Costco has Samsung tablets on special now. The inexpensive one is about $130 when I was last there, and works just fine for Alfa OBD. Also my $10 dongle works just as well as my OBD Link MX+.

Kindle Fire is a closed system, like Apples iPhone, from what I know it does not have access to the Google Appstore, only to Amazon's own apps.

That was the reason why I never bought it.

Yeah, I was going to check them out at Costco this weekend when I go there, the only reason I was going to go with the Samsung Tablet and MX+ was so I could do live data, screen capture, and use it as a scanner for my other non-FCA vehicles.

I am using these. Much cheaper and haven't had a single issue with them.

Are you able to do all the same functionality on the PC? Surely no need to spend money if no added benefit.

I think so, but I've never tried it on an android. I haven't run into anything I thought wasn't working.

Ok, I have read through most of this thread before asking these question and I have found some of my answers but not all.

1) Changing the set pressures on the tire monitoring. Yes I believe I understand that it does do this.
2) Turning off the Seat belt alarm I can't find a definitive answer on this one. I know of the whole key and seat belt 3 times thing, but I have non keyed trucks and it hasn't worked on them. It did on my 13 non-keyed truck but everything newer it hasn't worked.
3) I understand Apple products are out, My question is will it work on a MacBook running a bootcamp or parallels windows 10? I have found that everything that is windows only that I have tried on the windows partitions work just like it does on a windows pc, just wondering if anyone else has tried it.

@CBari , On #3, Just get an Android tablet to run Alfa. That way you can view and have data available while driving. Understand that it should work on Windows partition, but what if it doesn't when you need it! On #1, tire pressure is pretty straight forward to change the settings. Can't help you on seat belt chime, I was able to turn off without the use of Alfa. The software is a great help with reading codes on our trucks and changing the settings. Just remember to save the config file before making any changes so that you can keep track of the changes that you've made and if any issues, can change back. Settings will take time to so up, sometimes not till next day. Here is a site with a lot of info on AlfaOBD, https://www.ramforum.com/threads/alfaobd.123982/. I've programmed FOBIK's for my truck and a friends 300, turned my turn signal lamps into DRL's. You can change fog lamp drop out if your truck has fog lamps. Lot's of help on here and other site. Worth the investment. If you get the Bluetooth MX+, it has a generic code program to use with other vehicles!
