...come here for info.
Care to comment on how/why that 9-second Duramax is allegedly running a Chrysler 47RE? I read about it here on the TDR...
The story is that somehow the Allison can't shift fast enough and it eats itself in a hurry.
As a former owner of a DTT modified 47RH and current owner of a bone-stock LCT-1000, I won't be going back to a 47RH/RE. The Allison was designed with a clean sheet to take abuse, the Chrysler trannies were slowly upgraded over time to maybe just barely make it to the end of the warranty period with a gentle right foot and OEM engine.
Thanks,
Matt
I read threw the whole thread last night. I had forgoten about it. Talk about petty bickering.
I like the idea of what your doing. It will give people a option on trans upgrades. Will the trans hold real high horsepower. I don't know. But for the people that want a trans with better gear selections for towing I think your on the right track.
For a truck like my sig shows a 5/6 speed would be a very good upgrade. But in the case of my truck a 2000 would give me a better gear selection. I don't need 2 OD's with 3:08 gears. If I could afford it I would be over beating on your door for a complete swap.
I plan on being in Mansfield in a month or so to have a couple of minor upgrades done by Greenleaf. I might try to get in touch with you. I would love to go for a ride and see how the trans feels behind a cummins.![]()
the reason why is because of bind ups that occur with the dmaxes and also they defuel to shift. Tuning is the biggest key to making the allison live.
Hey, wanna convert a 12 valve to the allison???
