With salt season coming I thought I would remind all who have the joy of living in the areas of salted roads to keep you baby protected!! Heres a few tips that I have seen work year after year. I did a post a while back on this but this is a reminder. For those of us who change our own oil you can use used oil and mix 50/50 with diesel or K-1 NO GAS!!! or waxoil will work just as good and squirt in the door bottoms ( I drilled a hole down low and put a plug in it to make it easy) take out the cab corner vents(the little black plastic things) and get some in there too. On the front fenders I go through where the factory air box intake from the fender was, if you look back there you may see some RUST!!!!!! Squirt em good. On the driver side there is an access between the cowl and the fender where the hood hinge folds. On the bed go through the center stake pockets and get some on the top of the wheel arch. Underneath use common sence on what to squirt. Anything with factory undercoating is usually a go. Before doing this so the EPA dosent come unglued when they see oil running out of your truck on the street, park it on a piece of plastic or be ready with some oil dry or rags, make sure to let it drip out good. Any oil on the paint can be wiped up with some wax and grease remover availabe at parts stores, this goes for the front bumper too, cause it WILL get on the plastic, but it comes off easy. Do a search on waxoil or waxoyl if you want to go that route. Itll work just as good. To spray the solution I use an old recargeable fire extinguisher, check at fire protection shops, and call around. Go together with some buddies who need it done, and buy one. Lots better than a rusty truck. Any question fire away, Ill try and answer them.
