Addind a 9.5 ft camper on my 97 3500 2wd trk

Permit question for Maryland residents.

i have stock steel 16'' rims on 93 duelly

they are not much out there 4 duellys

are these rims much lighter, stronger
balance better?
any cool new designs ?

I've only used Alcoa rims. The ones on this truck are 8" wide & are tons lighter than the stock rims. You know just how much when you load the Alcoas in the back of the truck to have them installed & then off-load the steel rims. Bunches heavier. The Alcoas are rated over 3k lbs ea. More than enough for our loading. #ad

The less unsprung weight you have, the better the ride. If the rear axle weighs more than the rear of the truck, the ride is going to be horrible no matter how well it's sprung. Lighter wheels are about all we can do to help lighten the unsprung weight. That and aluminum wheels are more likely to be perfectly round.

If you do a lot of miles and high speed aluminum is the only way to go. The don't warp like steel unless you really do a number on them, and balance better.
