The aluminum parts have a lot of potential... . just gotta get the bugs worked out.

The early GM LS1 all alloy V8 had more than its share of problems created by the use of aluminum - required several redesigns, and end result was not nearly as much weight saving as you might think, by the time adequate reinforcing was provided.



The life of diesel is in the bottom end of the block, and cylinder support - not much use in having massive crankshafts and thick cylinder walls if they are not adequately supported...



And THEN, when the BOMBERS get started, watch for flying parts...
