After you mapquest it, makes me want to drop a leave I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER and say road trip! I like it when people take a (B) engine and make real power with it and not this baby stuff we do..... yes I call myself a baby power maker :D

Ok , here is what they should look like this is about as far as I will go on this , this is a REX rod , its is normally used in top fuel motors and is more then adequate for a 5. 9 Cummins diesel at any power level in drag racing trim . This rod has been used to clearance the block for aluminum rods, and the rods for a motor are in production now. This rod requires a great deal of work to the motor, as in pistons and crank work. The pistons are 900 grams and are half the price of average custom diesel piston. The rod weighs 1150 grams also, along with a 250 gram wrist pin. Total weigh savings is along the lines of 2200 grams or 4 lbs per hole. This is where power is made, you will have to replace them about every 100 runs or so .
 
In competition eliminator we replaced the rods every 50 to 60 passes, and sometimes stretched this to 77 passes, as I did not want to break in to a good running motor.

in reality 50 to 60 laps was when rings use to go south , now with big vacuum and better blocks, the ring seal will last 100 passes , so that is where most maximum effort engines get freshened. If you want to go fast you do what you need to get it done.

Sorry but I'm going to jump in here! To me this is a very correct statement!



Now lets step back to the 00', 01' era were guys were making 1300 hp with a small block Ford using a 91 mm turbo or Procharger vise N2O. It was said then that guys could run a steel rod and run a whole season on the short block and never do anything to it. Well I'll tell you I was at a closed track session when one of these cars let go of those steel rods that were suppose to be better..... bomb at 175 mph. Final vertic was aluminum rods, changing them every 50-60 passes and the result was zero failures if built right.



This Diesel thing is just getting started, look at the last post by jwilliams3 (Justin) "how much power does this have" if you get a truck to that point you going to have something and there are going to be trucks into the wall and upside down doing it. This Diesel deal is just getting started!
