Tax dollars at work

That got out of bed to watch the metoer shower this morning?

I didn't see much from here in downtown FT Worth but I saw 8 or 10 in a few minutes. . pretty

Later,

Mark

I saw a few on my way to work this morning 4:30. It was cloudy down home but the closer I got to Austin it cleared up.

My daughter and I woke up at 04:00 this morning to watch the meteors. The light Cumulostratus clouds dispersing the light from the full moon only allowed us to see the brightest ones.

My daughter went back to bed, and I figured WTF, might as well go to work.

We did last year but....

this year it was totally clouded over so i don't feel bad at rolling out of bed at my normal time of 0520 hrs and going to work at 0615.

I was standing out side at 0400 looking up into the cold clear night. The brightness of the moon prevented me seeing a lot of them, but I did see several quite impressive streaks across the sky.

It was cold and frosty!

I wonder if I saw a few of the early arriver's. Sunday morning while setting up for duck hunting I saw quite a few meteors streak across the sky. Far more than normal, but not a whole lot, just about 4 or 5.

It was great, but the full moon made it a little difficult to see. The best part was that my 10 year old daughter woke me up at 3:30am to go out and look at it. We spent about an hour out there - about 25 degrees, but calm and clear. It was just great to be out there together enjoying it. We managed to get back inside for another hour or so of sleep after that.

It was pretty cool to see. It seemed the ones in the west were WAY faster than the east ones. It was neat though and nice clear sky.

Stayed in bed.

Something I did find interesting about 9 years ago.

If you look in the western skys about 30 to 90 minutes after sunset or 30-90 minutes eastern skys before sunrise you can see the satellites that circle the world. Some move really fast.

But let it be known big brother is watching us too.
