Question regarding Superlift sway bar end links

fuel pressure...not

There is a large adapter piece that is included with the kit. I drilled and tapped 4 8/32 holes and secured the pump to the neck of the 5 gal drum. For ten bucks and a little mod. you can't beat it.

Anyone in the Houston area willing to part with a gallon or two? Better yet, Is anyone from the area going near the company that sells it, and are they willing to pick up a few 5 gallon containers for our members in houston?? I am sure we would have several members who would be willing to pay a little extra for your time and effort.

OK, who's gonna repackage this stuff.

Someone near the Amalgamated plant needs to buy a 55 gal. drum, and repackage in one gal. containers.

At the 55 gal. price of $9, per gal. , plus say $5 for a container, and $5 for your trouble, that comes to, heck, round it to $20 bucks. I bet there would be enough takers to make it worth while. I'd buy for sure.

That's about a $200 contribution to someones BOMB fund for a little sideline work.

On shipping, a few weeks ago I bought a gallon of really nasty herbicide over the net and UPS delivered it no problem. It was in a plastic antifreeze type container. The plastic jug was then packed in a cardboard box with newspaper around it. The only special labeling was "This End Up" on the box.

Come on, got my check ready.

Thanks, Ronnie

I have the same question, How long is the shelf life? My truck is two years old and has only 25,000 miles. 5 gallons might be way to much for a low milage driver.

Shelf Life

I asked Gary about the shelf life of this stuff. He said for all practical puposes, virutually indefinately. He said some components may separate a little if it's left undisturbed for several months, but a little shaking/stirring will mix it all back up again.

Just buy the 5 gallon pail, add it every time you fill up, and be done with it! :)

PS: Pumps: I bought the McMaster-Carr pump a few weeks ago, but saw the Grainger version yesterday. They are virtually identical. I've been trying to come up with an adapter to make the M-C pump work, but the threads on the bottom end (the smaller ones) are odd (24mm or 25mm by 1. 75 thread pitch). The threads on the Grainger pump are slightly different and will work with a 3/4 inch threaded pipe connector. I going to buy the Grainger pump today and send the M-C pump back.

Info on Additive

It has been over a month now that this topic on the additive was started.

Does anyone have any results yet, good. bad or indifferent.

Would sure like to know how good it is before I order a 5 gal can.

Just let me know what you think...

Sorry for the slow reply, been on vacation. I am waiting for more feedback on the results of using this stuff before I'm ready to buy. So far, about all I'm hearing is it makes engines run quieter. I'm confident this stuff should produce better results than that. If I hear more good input on mpg and power, I'll split one with ya, Johnny5.

Happy w/ results

I'm happy with the results of Amalgamated. Engine is a touch quietier, throttle response is improved, exhaust is real clean. I can't give a hard # for MPG improvement (36" tires = Odometer off) but it seems better. The best concoction I found before Amalgamated was, 4 oz. Stanadyne, 4 oz. Howes and 6 oz. Amsoil Cetane Boost. I think this is a little better. I would buy another keg once this one is finished. :)

My 2 cents

Deliver Amalgamated

I live in Terre Haute, IN. I would be willing to travel to Fort Wayne and bring some five gallon containers to the TDR rally at Columbus, IN or the Scheid Diesel Rally in Terre Haute. If anyone is interested let me know.

If anyone is still interested in getting some Amalgamated fuel additive, I got an Email from Gary Pipenger. His offer is still open to TDR members although the shipping charge has gone up 5 bucks. Here is the complete text of Gary's note:

Dear Dennis,

We are making our additive # 15 (in the article) available to TDR

customers.

The TDR 21665-15 additive (ref. TDR article) is a "complete year-round

additive" with 652ptb of cetane improver to yield 6+ numbers increase

(this is considerably more increase than any other premium diesel fuel

additive product). Our additive also has a full Cummins L-10 detergency

rating PLUS existing deposit clean up capabilities, lubricity

enhancement for 5000+ SLBOCLE lubricity rating, storage stability for 12

months, NACE 1-A corrosion rating, and combustion deposit modifiers to

prevent buildup. AND, this additive is winterized to lower the CFPP by

25 Degrees F or more, reduce the Pour Point by 35 Degrees F or more and

De-Ice moisture to -40F or

more for typical water amounts. There is nothing more that can be put

into an additive package, and this additive can be used all year long.

The additive treats at 1:375 (1 gallon per each 375 gallons of fuel) or

1 pint per each 47 gallons of fuel and you do not have to worry about

overtreating. If you want more cetane improvement or better

winterization, you can increase the dosage and no harm will be

encountered.

We are making the additive available in 5-gallon cans at $90. 00 each

(includes $50. 00 for the additive and $40. 00 for shipping and handling)

if you send us a check (no credit cards). Send your check to:

AMALGAMATED, INC. , P. O. Box 8977, Fort Wayne, IN. 46898. We will make

shipment to you within 3 to 5 business days from receipt of your check.

You may save shipping, if you want to pick up the additive, give us 1 or

2 days notice before so we can have it ready for you.

Let me know if you have other questions.

Best regards,

Gary Pipenger

Chipstien, I have an almost full 5-gal. pail of the Amalgamated DFA however, I would be interested in purchasing another IF the shipping would be reduced (i. e. , "bulk" discount).
