You could turn it back in for the "Single" remote (BMK-21). This unit keeps the Full-Flow filter mounted to the engine, and the By-pass mounted on a remote mount.

You could get with the person that sold it to you, and perhaps they would take it back and trade you for the unit you now have.

I have heard of others that have done this by contacting Amosil Inc. 715-399-8324, then ask for someone in the filter dept.

Yup, got the BMK-21 installed now. I used the turbo drain fitting thing like 100proof did in his economy bypass setup. He must have connections for Cummins parts as I paid 37 bucks for it. :{

I also have a call into a former co-worker with cummins engineering connections to get more info on the oiling system to help us understand how the oil distribution works in this engine.

Explain using the turbo drain fitting more please... That just seems wrong to mess with the turbo oil supply.

Well, I was considering getting one of these units, but probably not now. Does anyone know if this problem is related to all oil bypass units, or just Amsoil's product?

It is only related to the Amsoil dual-remote mount kit. Get the single remote mount (bypass only) and you will have no issues.

I'm not aware of any other manufacturer that makes a "duel remote" by-pass system. Most of the other manufactures of by-pass filtration systems utilize the OEM "FULL-FLOW" location, just like the Amsol "SINGLE" unit does. The Duel Remote places an adapter at the OEM Filter location that has connections for two oil lines that feed the Duel remote mount that has both a By-Pass Filter element, and a FULL-FLOW filter element in the same location. As far as filtraton, the two systems accomplish the same, as the By-Pass elements are the same elements for each.
