Centrifugle Oil Filter ?

Just installed the Amsoil Dual Bypass Filter system. The filter block is located Beside the right Battery,The oil lines are about 18in long. It has a loud humming noise. It drounds out the engine sound at highway speeds. I juess this humming noise is picked up from the oil pump. I wraped the lines with pipe insolation did not help much.
Any ideas on this would be appreciated.

I have a single Amsoil bypass unit and it makes no noise at all. Mine has an orifice to limit flow through the bypass filter. Is it possible you have the full flow filter on the side with the restriction? Do you have good oil pressure?

Good Luck.

I have the dual remote system and have a growl at about 70 mph. I was told that this was caused by the 90 degree bend that I have in my hoses that connect the filters. My filters are on the passenger side battery.

TD Jackson I have 90s comeing off the filter adapter and also going to the filter block. thanks for the info.

I removed the passenger battery, built a bracket and mounted dual by-pass filter where the battery was. I have 90's coming off the adapter going straight into the filter, no noises here.

One year no noise. Check the hose at the filter block at engine filter location. Could have the hoses backwards. May not be cycling the oil. Trying to force it through the wrong way.
Just a thought.

Dual set up with the 90's and no noises here. Course that 4 inch exhaust would make it hard to hear if it was there.

Are any of you other guys useing the 90 degree fittings.

I've got 90s at both ends of both hoses. The hoses themselves do not exceed the minimum bend radius. I have inner tube wrapped around both hoses in the middle area and zip-tied together to prevent chafing wear. No noise, no hum.

Like a few others, I built a bracket under and around the passenger-side battery to keep the filters up where they can be easily serviced and not easily damaged by road debris.

This is a dumb question, (and I, by no means, wish to belittle your installation abilities): are the hoses connected correctly? Pushing oil the wrong way through the filters might cause said vibration. But then, you would have noticed abnormal oil pressure straight away and fixed it quickly.

...

I seem to recall an over-pressure valve that keeps the oil pressure from getting *too* high. Perhaps this valve is flakey and needs replacement. (I'm 1,000 miles from my SM, so I can't verify the existence of this valve right now. )

Steve, I used Aeroquip Teflon/braided stainless steel hoses with one straight and three 90 degree SWEPT fittings to install my Amsoil Dual Remote Bypass system. The SWEPT type fittings flow quite a bit better than the hard 90 degree type fittings provided by Amsoil in the Dual Remote kit. I'm also using the trick billet aluminum block adapter as purchased from fellow TDR member "CPFF". "Willyslover" is also using the same adapter. In fact, I'm running even longer hoses than most as I have my two filters mounted more or less horizontal on the the crossmember (no room topside as my Air Bulldog intake components are in the way).

Can't believe it

Just installed my dual by-pass kit and we got major noise:mad: Hope some of you "smart fellers" out there can figure this one out cuz there's no way I'm gonna live with this:{

I wouldn't know if mine made any noise... :D but it does have more leaks than an inflatable kiddie pool 15 miles north of Cuba !

I'll be glad to trade my leaky one for your noisy one ! :D
