Amsoil Dual Bypass

Blair, if your interested I just might wind up selling my setup. I have the CPFF kit. Billet adapter, SS hoses and battery box. No leaks

Cliff. . you got the correct lines in/out . on the block... . and rechecked ?. . teflon used on fittings and if so did some get inside the block causing a restriction [mine are all An so none used]... did ya look at the block for any crapola in there. . right lines in / out on John's billet adapter ... call Amsoil and have them send ya a new block cause somethings wrong... not a sound out O mine Buddy, whish my wife would be so quiet LOL

Hey what's up Gary Pretty sure I have the lines hookup correctly. Assuming the arrow on the filter block pointing inward towards the filter means "in" and the arrow pointing towards the connectors mean "out" then I got it right . Didn't use teflon tape on the connectors and no leaks thus far. John says I'm 1 in 50 with a noisy oil pump. Says his first installation was noisy and after he swapped out engines and reinstalled the same bypass setup the noise was gone. If I had the line hooked up wrong wouldn't I be having an oil pressure problem?

I have the Amsoil Dual By-Pass with the stainless hoses and billet mount provided by CPFF. No leaks, but I do have the "noise". The first time I drove the truck after the install the "noise" caused me to pull over to the side of the road and pop the hood. I spoke to CPFF about it and he said the noise of the oil pump is being resonated through the two filters. Since all of our Cummins are a little bit different, the noise level from the oil pump is different and may not be audible at all on some trucks. I am 60,000 miles down the road with the By-Pass and no problems. CPFF's explanation seems to make sense.

Hmmm, guess you guys (Sled Puller & Rob) can't tell the difference between the sweet sound of a well running Cummins and the nasty sound of something not working right. Maybe a hearing aid might be in order. :-{} Glad you're not working on my truck

I don't know what to tell you, duct tape the hoses,, something to dampen the oil pump noise.



I don't run a By-Pass, I thought it was overkill.

Don't get me wrong, I can hear it, and every other noise on the truck(turbo, fuel pump, exhaust or lack of, tires, not to mention the engine, and yes the by-pass filters), part of the reason for the purchase of the truck was the noise (no lie BTW), it's the sounds of performance! And nobody ever asks me "Is that a diesel?"

Did anyone get a fix for this. It is annoying as heck, sounds like an old am radio that was picking up the signal from the condensor/plugs on an old car

Over time using Amsoil 5/30 the noise subsided enough to where it's tolerable. Don't know way... Since I rebuilt my engine I’ve been using Delo oil and the noise is completely gone. So thicker oil seems to silence the beast.

I still believe that the problem lies in the 90 degree fittings supplied by Amsoil. As I stated previously in this thread some years ago, my system runs silent.



To reiterate, I'm using Aeroquip -08 A/N Teflon/braided stainless steel hose with qty. 3 Aeroquip -08 A/N 90 degree (swept) fittings and qty. 1 straight fitting.
