Sorry to hit on a subject that I know has been discussed in the past. But I just need the straight scoop on this. I run the amsoil dual filter bypass on my 03, I like the fact that its a quality unit and I truely believe that my oil stays cleaner. But I have 4 times now had the check gauge dinger go off and noticed my oil pressure dropping then return to normal. Its interesting that the dinger goes off before the oil pressure ever gets below 30psi, and it never hits zero before it is on the rise again. Now is this a true engine damaging problem ? does my motor at any point actually loose pressure to the point that it is taking longevity away or doing any real damamge ?
Clearly I would rather throw away a couple hundred $$$ on the unit and switch back to stock filters then throw away 7 grand on a motor.
Is there a fix for this ? can I mount the filters low (on the frame rail) and get rid of this problem ? Please advise.
Thanks in advance.
