I think I might try synthetic for my next change. If I do, it will be delvac 1 though. I just don't trust amsoil. When it appears at autozone, I might consider it. I don't like the small, underfunded company image I get with amsoil. THAT IS JUST MY VIEW IN THIS. I definitly don't want to start a :-{} ******* match and end up with #@$%!

Canderson,

A little story for you:

Once upon a time, they was a girl who's husband bought a big pick up, and let her call it "her" truck.

She entered an oil thread, and was quite happy bashing a product she knew nothing about, except one thing- that she had never seen that oil on the shelves of Wally World, so it MUST NOT BE ANY GOOD!

Wait, it gets better!

So, somebody asked her what oil she used. And guess what?

It turned out to be a little minor Independent oil company that sold expensive, allbeit quality, (for dino) oil!

And you know what?

It was not sold at Wally World neither!

Now what?

I would stick to Dino oil if I were you, your opinion is so slanted, any little problem would be blamed on the synthetic.

Funny, anytime I don't like a thread, I skip over it.

Good thread Dan, Now that I am mildly aroused, I believe I will vote now!

CAnderson FYI, my local Bumper To BUmper does carry AMSOIL.

I have no vested interest in whether people like, dislike or use AMSOIL but I do believe that airing peoples opinions on any subject is important for people that are considering their options. Real world experience is as inportant if not more important than technical data and vendor infomation.

I think CAnderson just likes to get in on topics to create disharmony. It seems like he does't believe ANYTHING anyone tells him. Funny thing is ... he KEEPS asking... . ?????

BTW CAnderson, how's the savings account coming for the B-1 Turbo? I hear Kurt lowered your price to $9,995... . Only problem is you MUST run AMSOIL in your CTD, or the B-1 will puke!!!! J/K;)

Also, as far as "small underfunded" company's go Amsoil couldn't be doing too bad, everytime I turn on some race on tv, somebody's got an Amsoil sticker on their car/truck/snowmobil/motorcycle/Monster Truck/Drag Race Car... . etc. etc. It's a good thing there are people out there to take a chance and test new products or penny-pinching-followers would still be riding their horse to work... no disrespect meant towards the HORSE of COURSE!!!!:D

It's not the Amsoil threads that get tiring. It's the overwhelming ignorance of certain people that insist on attacking a good product. THAT gets old in a hurry. Fortunately, such ignorance is easily discerned by those possessing a reasonable level of mental acuity. And it's not only Amsoil that gets attacked. Every product seems to have at least one favorite detractor in the TDR.

The "newbies" and quite a few others don't realize this, but we are definitely missing out, as many of the "heavy hitters" (the real deal, the high HP vendors) are no longer making time to post on here. Why swim with sharks when there's no money in it?

It seems this poll has a Liberal Democrat slant ot it. ;)

There should be a choice,

" Amsoil is an excellent product, I use it, don't care if you use it, but don't bash something you know nothing about, or spread wrong information you have heard from the nervous nellies. "

Hey, Did you guys hear Ford owns Cummins?

And what the devil is Golden West?:D

Damn Tom. Where did you learn those fancy words? Real nice to read an intelligent post. Anyway, someone has to lead. Most people are followers to boot. If we didn't have adventurer's in the 1700's we never would have gotten past the Mississippi River;) Now we have them useing oil.

Now this should be a thread all its own!

Why are the so called 'Big Gun hp' dealers not posting like they did?

1) They are too busy making money off of us to post.

2) Their products have failed, and they are in hiding.

3) They do not like to be questioned, when they don't have the answers.

4) Their horrible customer service gets them bashed every time they open their mouth, so they moved on to easy prey.

5) HAPPY CUSTOMERS are spreading the GOOD word so fast, that the phone and e-mail lines are busy, so they can't post, and don't have too.

6) The Really Big Guns let their trucks do the talking.

7) After milking TDR for all it had, they have moved on to other Diesel sites.

8) They left the company they worked for, started their own shop, and now do not have the "goof off" time to post they did before when they were on the clock!LOL!

Nobody can follow Tom--too closely-- it cuts down on visibility.

Few folks actually deny the advantages of Amsoil and similar synthetics - they just seriously question whether the expense justifies those advantages. Most folks here won't even KEEP their trucks long enough to wear out the engine when using *standard* good quality dino oils, so why pay even MORE for "benefits" THEY will never realize?

Added to that is the evangelist-like fervency of the synthetics pushers that nearly include the ability to prevent baldness and wrinkles and flat feet as within its ability...

I propose that the synthetics discussion continue, but that I, MGM, Don and Amsoilman (plus a few other of the "synthetic war regulars") be barred from those discussions to reduce the heat generated... ;) :p :D

I'll stop if THEY will... . :p

AMEN BROTHER!!!!!!

A spirited discussion is always nice, but it takes a personal tone in short order and hits the toilet.

If you don't think synthetics have advantages then I will tell you that if you need propane to light it you should not smoke it. There IS more than one brand too, if you think not then you too need to put the pipe down. :D

There have been a number of threads where honest questions have gotten buried in BS before answered, and people flamed for asking honest questions. Let it be a discussion rather than an arguement is all I ask.

Evangelist? I use Amsoil, I sell it, I don't go around pushing it on people. Ask anyone in the TDR, they'll tell you that. I usually get ASKED for it. I don't even advertise it in my signature! Hey y'all, buy a case from me this week, before God strikes me dead! :D He almost killed Oral Roberts, for not raising enough money! Help me sell some oil!

Don, get thee behind me, Satan !

I, like the other evangelists, am merely defending an excellent product from the attacks of the unwashed masses. :D

Preston, you got that right... Lead, follow, or get the heck out of the way.....

LMAO Gary!!!!!!! I'm not going bald, so no need for amsoil here! I suppose that I had better explain my view on the "small underfunded company" bit. It is simple really, amsoil does not have their product certified because it costs money to do that. Lack of money was the reason I heard. I have never seen amsoil for sale anywhere. That is where I get the small idea. Thus I get the small underfunded company idea. That could be totally off. It was just the empression I got. That is all. This is a hostile topic and I am done with it.

Now I have seen it the other way--- HONEST AND CORRECT ANSWERS were buried in what I would call a political spin.

A few threads, I think a couple guys wanted an answer that was INcorrect, they wanted Amsoil to take the blame for the fall of the free world. Mainly because Amsoil is different, and they did not understand it.

No one has been flamed for asking an honest question, but they have been flamed for stating things that simply were false.

It always comes back to someone asks a simple question ABOUT Amsoil, and somebody who has never used the product rushes in and tells them beware!

As long as people keep posting falsehoods, I will defend the product, and my reasons for using it.

CAnderson is a good example.

The answer to his statement/question was in that thread that ended up with what, 25 pages? The answer was in there prolly 5 times, but was totally covered up by spin, stateing the wrong answer, over and over. He read the wrong answer so many times, that is what he came away with.

The exact same tactic is used by the Liberal Democrats and the media. Keep saying Bush is responsible for the recession and Enron, and enough people will start to believe it.

I don't quite understand why a few guys have such a vendetta against Amsoil, and take it personal when people post good sample results, but I guess it is something you have to live with when your on the top.
